Bio

My name is Pedro Freire and I’m originally from São Paulo, Brazil. I’ve started my career working in the creative department of advertising agencies. Later, I decided to launch my own business, and for the past years I made my transition from graphic to UX design. Since then, I’ve been working for great companies in the travel and tech industries.

When I was 19 years old, I moved to the USA to get my first degree in Graphic Arts & Visual Communication. At that age I was also a tennis player, so I was able to get a tennis scholarship. After graduating, I went back to Brazil, lived and worked there for 6 more years. Tired of the chaos of São Paulo, I decided to move to Madrid, Spain to get another degree. After finishing my 1 year MBA program, I was hired by Booking.com and moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Since 2017, I’ve been living in Amsterdam and working for Booking.com, where I am focused on improving the experience of new features for our customers.

Work style

There is nothing better than a good design that makes people feel satisfied, and that’s what I try to embed in my work style. Good design to me is light, clean & almost unnoticed. It has to give that feeling that users like it for some reason but can’t explain why exactly. It is that special touch that makes apps or websites cool, but users don’t know what it is. It just feels nice.
